100 Vandals. The View From Here. Art Gallery of Western Australia 2021.

In The View From Here, AGWA presents its largest ever exhibition of Western Australian art, with 30 major new commissions, exhibitions and acquisitions by leading Western Australian artists and creatives. Part of that scope is 100 Vandals, a project which brings together newly commissioned drawings by Perths graffiti writers through all its generations. Co-curated by AGWA curator Isobel Wise with assistance from Trevor Bly, Mike Shime, Ian Strange and Drew from the Butcher Shop, the exhibition is a unique insight into the Perth underground culture.

Craigie Tales, 2011.

For 15 years the northern suburb of Craigie provided a place for graffiti writers to paint without fear of prosecution or persecution. For the first time in the suburbs history an attempt to document the stories, pieces and individuals that made the Craigie Walls an important place in West Australian graffiti culture has been made. First launched at the BreadBox Gallery, ArtRage, it is one of a handful of locally produced publications investigating the act of graffiti within Perth.

One street from happiness, 2017 / Disappointing Vanilla, 2019

One street from happiness and Disappointing Vanilla are the latest exhibitions  of experimental prints, drawings and paintings by collaborative artists Trevor Bly (WA) and Patrick Doherty (WA) exploring the ideas of localism, conflict, myth making and the human condition. Bly and Doherty have been working together for more than 10 years, bringing together their former backgrounds in the graffiti subculture and contemporary art. The shows offer a continued investigation of combined signifiers referencing the Perth suburban experience, the ‘unhomely’ nature of disconnect and scribbles from the taboo.
